I recently got to spend another very quick weekend in Los Angeles! We're talking less than 48 hours 😳 It would be nice to see more of this city over, say, a week, but these fast trips are fun too.
highlights of the trip
Our Airbnb
A little gem in Mar Vista (near Venice)... near the airport and the beach, this apartment was so cute and I wish we could've spent more time enjoying it! But as it was we were mostly just there to sleep.
Eightfold Coffee
Still my favorite coffee shop in LA.
Echo Park Lake
A late afternoon walk around this lake was so pleasant. We saw turtles and ducks, and the swan paddle boats are incredible.
Silverlake Ramen
I crave this on the regular, so definitely took advantage of being nearby and getting one delicious bowl of tonkotsu ramen in 🙌🏼
Good Friday Service
Such a somber night. Grateful to have been able to spend it with Reality LA at First Presbyterian in Hollywood.
Venice Beach
An extra long walk on the beach was the most perfect way to spend a Saturday morning. Literally that last photo up there is me in my most ideal state-- bare feet on sand, coffee in my hand. The beach was so foggy and quiet, and for a while it felt like we had it to ourselves. Eventually we came upon the surf classes and yoga classes 😊
Brunch at Great White
Bon Appetit named the fried chicken sandwich from Great White "The Best Fried Chicken Sandwich We Ate in 2017" and I have thought about it more than once. It was delicious, and this spot is just super cute. We had brunch and then got back in line for cappuccinos to-go. How cute are their cup stamps????
Janell's Wedding
The whole reason for the trip! One of my oldest friends was married in a super cool warehouse space in central LA and we celebrated with homemade carnitas and rice and beans, horchata, dancing, and music. It was perfect.
And then approximately 42 hours after landing at LAX we were back on planes headed home. 'Til next time, LA.
